Fall is a deeply desired wedding season and it’s easy to understand why. The weather is pleasant with the perfect chill in the air, the leaves are all different vibrant colors, and those beautiful overcast days make for the perfect wedding photos!
With the Fall season just beginning, we put together a list of the most popular Fall wedding trends for this year, and we even got to collaborate with top wedding vendor Charity Fent from Charity Fent Cake Design as she gives her expert opinion on the best Fall cake trend! Wedding Cake: Buttercream Florals
According to our friends over at Charity Fent Cake Design, textured buttercream florals are the biggest Fall trend for 2020 weddings: “There is something about buttercream and flowers together that is so feminine and pretty! You can never recreate another person's art and that’s what painted floral buttercream is. I start with a blank white or ivory canvas and start painting on my buttercream flowers with my palette knife. At the end you get a one-of-a-kind custom made cake for your wedding that no one else has had. If you’re wanting a little more texture, I would use some white non pareils or pearls.”

Wedding Entertainment: DJ+Live Band Hybrid
A big trend in the Midwest is the expert blending of live music and a DJ set up. If you want your bridesmaids to all be in the same color, black bridesmaids dresses are a big Fall trend this year. If you’re a bride looking to have your whole scheme represented, muted colors such as rust, olive, steel blue and pink champagne are all popular colors being worn by bridesmaids this Fall. These simple yet elegant colors create a dreamy ambiance in Fall wedding photos and there’s the added bonus of each bridesmaid getting to pick a color that flatters them uniquely!
Wedding Menu: Grazing Tables (Modified for COVID-19)
Grazing tables and charcuterie boards are a really big trend when it comes to Fall wedding menus. Guests love having the vast array of delicious options to snack while enjoying company during the reception. However this grazing trend has been modified for COVID-19 precautions; portions of the grazing table are plated and set out so that only the caterer’s gloved hands have been around the exposed food.
