how did you come to be a part of elevate?

I was looking for a DJ for my own wedding a few years back, I sat down to meet with Denny that day and he and I had an instant connection and I knew he was the right fit for our wedding. I also had the opportunity to meet Broc, our owner, that day too. And I couldn't help but feel great positive energy coming from them and all my vendors had great things to say about them and the company. Later that week I saw they were hiring for DJs and Event Hosts, and I thought I would take a leap and try it. I like music and partying, how hard can it be? Little did I know I was stepping into a career where I get to use my talents to uplift people on the biggest day of their life and encourage their guests to come fully alive and free at these events. I had no idea the impact I could have on my community by showing my heart and putting my all into every event I do. Now I am 2 years into working for Elevate and I am not only one of our Elite DJ/ Event Hosts, but I also am a vocalist performing with our DJ/ Band Hybrid, as well as Operations Manager in charge of all our events and equipment. It has been a wild ride, but I haven't looked back once.

Why do you love event hosting?

I truly enjoy seeing people let loose and dance, sing, and have a wonderful time. I feel like we start the party, then our guests take it up to the next level! It’s awesome getting to celebrate with everyone!

What is a hobby you’re truly passionate about?

I have a passion for performing. Be it as a vocalist heading up a band or in a theatre production. I have always loved singing, acting, and dancing because it is an escape from reality for myself but also for the audience to enjoy the fantasy we create on stage.

What was one of the most inspiring moments for you?

When I was in my early years in college, I was cast in my first big production as a Musical Theatre Major. The show was Chicago, a long-time favorite of mine, and though I really wanted one of the principal parts Velma, I was still thrilled to be a part of the small ensemble which makes up a great deal of the show. Throughout the rehearsal process, I showed promise and was cast as the understudy for Velma, so I did my work learning my own track as well as an entirely different part just in case. It then came down to the opening week, and the girl who had been cast as Velma fell very ill and was not looking good to perform opening weekend. I got the call that Monday evening that she would not be in the show opening and that I would be going on as the lead. Cue a mix of excitement and panic. But then I said to myself, “Time to show them what you are made of.” I went on that weekend and owned the stage. Deep down I knew I had the strength and the talent to do it. It taught me early on that I was capable of so much more than I ever thought. And as time has gone on, I’ve shown myself time and time again that I have what it takes to accomplish anything I set out to do. With the right drive and encouragement, anything is possible.

What do you like most about working at elevate?

My favorite thing about working for Elevate is the culture of care and excellence that we strive for to make each event special for our clients. Also the culture we have as a team. That we build each other up and work toward us all achieving our goals is something that is unmatched in any other work environment I've been in.
